La Pedriza and its Moods

I’m one of those people who says they love hiking, but never actually does it…until yesterday. La Pedriza is a rock formation in the Manzanaeres el Real region, about an hour outside of Madrid via train/bus.

The weather had been pretty awful over the past week (a lot of rain) so thankfully when we left it was sunny. But it kept changing once we arrived. It would be sprinkling in one area surrounded by grey clouds but blue skies the next.

Here are a few of my favourite photos from the hike – we didn’t stay too long but that turned out to be a good thing because the rain took a turn for the worse on the walk back (I was still freezing fro its cold when I arrived back in my flat):

Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of this castle

We saw a deer!

The changing weather turned out to be a good thing in the end!

(Side note: I feel like haven’t been writing as much because the end of the semester is near which unfortunately means that assignments are due and an exam period is looming…)
